Haflinger to kuc ogólnoużytkowy, który wywodzi się z Południowego Tyrolu. Jest zawsze maści kasztanowatej o trochę innej grzywie i ogonie. Franz ist sehr neugierig und dabei unerschrocken. Er lässt sich nur schwer aus der Ruhe bringen. Er kennt es auch von Kindern geputzt zu werden, der Sattel lag zum Üben schon mal drauf und er lernte auch die Longe schon kennen. 
Franz ist brav beim Schmied und steigt ohne Probleme in den Hänger. 
Kennt Kühe, Hunde, Hühner, Traktor,…
Dem Alter entsprechend ist er aber natürlich auch manchmal noch recht lustig.
Krankheiten oder Verletzungen hatte er noch keine. Derzeit steht er mit gleichaltrigen auf der Weide. Er kann zur weiteren Aufzucht auch gerne da bleiben.
