If you want bombproof, this is your girl, let her video speak for itself! Macey is a 4 year old Quarter Horse mare standing 14.2 hands tall. This sporty girl is very stout and takes up an abundance of leg (the rider in the video is 5’5). Macey is more than just a pretty face, she is loving, kind, and has a wonderful personality, making her pleasant to be around. Macey has extensive trail experience from fox hunting to riding around local trails. She has been produced well in the ring and is ready to be finished your way.
In the barn, you will often see Macey’s head sticking out of her stall because she wants somebody to pay attention to her. She waits politely behind her stall guard and never makes a sound. Macey doesn’t mind being in the barn by herself. She stands pleasantly to be groomed, tacked, and bathed, you can pick up all four of her feet without a problem. In the field, Macey is turned out with mares, geldings, and a mini cow, living out 24/7, weather permitting. She is in the middle of the pecking order, but tends to keep to herself. Macey is easy to catch and will lead beside a Kubota or any other machinery, you can even ride her back to your barn bareback!
In the ring, Macey is an uphill ride. She will walk, trot, canter, and jump over small fences. She has been brought along slowly and correctly due to her age. Macey is learning collection and softening into the bit, along with moving off of leg pressure. She is gaining confidence over small fences and seems to really enjoy jumping. Macey is incredibly comfortable, with three smooth gaits and easy transitions. Her athleticism allows her to trot and canter small circles, and adjust her speed accordingly.
On the trails, Macey is steady and reliable; the trails seem to be her happy place. She will lead, follow, go alone, or in a group. She rides in a snaffle off property and in the ring, she never gets strong or leans on the bit. She is a happy medium of woah and go. She truly is a trail unicorn. Macey will go up and down banks, cross water, walk over bridges, navigate through fallen logs, go through tunnels, walk through brush, you point her nose to it, Macey will do it, she is super handy. Wildlife doesn’t phase her at all. Macey is sure footed and takes her time going down steep, tricky terrain. She easily keeps a safe distance between her and the horse in front of her and will stand patiently if other horses will trot off. Macey is extremely easy to ride out on the trails, usually being ridden on the buckle. She goes western or English with no preference. Macey has no herd bound tendencies, and is not trailer sour or barn sour.

Out fox hunting, Macey is great with the hounds, stands at every check and never tries to compete with the horse in front of her. She keeps her composure when the hunt gets crazy. Macey doesn’t mind other horses running up behind her and has never offered to kick, snarl, or pin her ears. Everyone in the hunt field is absolutely obsessed with this mare, and they are often shocked when we tell her she is only 4 years old.
Macey is a super easy keeper with front shoes, and only a scoop of grain a day. She sells up to date on wormer, farrier, dentist, and vaccines. While in the field, she has access to free choice grass hay. Macey sells 100% sound with no vices. Shipping can be arranged anywhere.
